Joe Liss and Marcus Sams

While performing in an Armando, Joe Liss and Marcus Sams instantly felt the improv Karma that transformed them into Liss n’ Sams! From a single suggestion they perform committed character work, seamless transitions, immaculate space object work, and call backs that keeps laughing audiences wanting more. Since then they have improvised all over the country. Joe Liss is a Second City Chicago alumnus where he wrote and performed in 6 revues. On TV He has appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Strangers With Candy, and Hidden America with Jonah Ray. Joe's Film roles include God Bless America, Wayne’s World 2, Home Alone 2, and Major League. Among his writing credits are Third Rock From the Sun, Drawn Together, and SpongeBob Squarepants. Marcus Sams is the Owner/Artistic Director of Moment Improv Theatre (SF) where he recently launched his own 6-level improvisational training program. Marcus has performed in 60+ improv festival shows, and is an in-demand teacher for festival workshops. He is a past performer/teacher with Leela and was a member of the critically-acclaimed comedy group, Oui Be Negroes with Shaun Landry. Marcus is also the Artistic Director for the San Francisco improv festival. ​ Highlights include opening for BassProv at The Chicago Improv Festival's Secret Show, being selected as the master teachers for the Alaska State Improv Festival, headlining at The 2018 Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, and this past October performing in the Opening Ceremony at the invitation-only Improvaganza Festival in Hawaii.
